Midland, Texas – BCA Permian Basin
Prevarian Hospital Partners conducted an extensive market analysis and discovered a need for behavioral health services in the Midland, Texas region, where patients were routinely transferred to a hospital nearly 120 miles away.
Prevarian’s industry relationships led to discussions with Behavioral Centers of America (BCA) to find a solution for the market. Prevarian purchased the Permian Basin Hospital in October 2008, and renovated the facility to meet BCA’s specific program requirements. Prevarian’s decades of experience in building and opening hospitals enabled a smooth, cost-effective renovation, and BCA reopened the facility in January 2009.
The 41,460-square-feet, 64-bed psychiatric hospital received JCAHO accreditation and enabled BCA to align with and serve numerous general acute care hospitals in the Midland/Odessa region, offering adolescent, adult, and geriatric psychiatry services. The 10-acre campus also included a 5,720-square-feet medical office pavilion.
